Donations!!

Woohoo! I got my first donation. Now I only need to raise $5175 more! I really am excited to be doing this.

I will meet my honored patient on Saturday, February 5th at the kickoff meeting. My honored patient will be someone who has been diagnosed with a blood cancer that I will be running in honor of. I think that's a really neat part of the Team in Training program - it gives everyone a personal reason to be doing this.

Ready To Get Started!

Well, I signed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to run the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon in Alaska in June - and even though I thought I was crazy as I did it - now I am ready to get started!

Training doesn't start until February 12th, but I think I should get a head start. I went running with Brant on Monday and ran for 55 and a half minutes. At that pace, I would just need to run a little over 4 and a half hours more and I'd have my marathon.

Okay, so that sounds really scary. But I have until June to prepare for this - and I'm pretty sure I can do it. I'll keep you all updated, and we'll make it through this together!

I'm also excited to fundraise for the Leukemai and Lymphoma Society. I'm thrilled that at the end of this I will not only have run a marathon, but I will have raised a lot of money for a great cause and helped a lot of people. But I need your help! So please make your tax deductible donations at
